Z58 Shanghai

Camron has just been appointed by the Zhongtai, China’s leading lighting specialists, to handle international media relations for the opening of its new Shanghai headquarters designed by acclaimed Japanese Architect Kengo Kuma.
This is an exciting project for Camron and is our first client in the region. The four story building in the historical French Concession is an oasis of calm in the frenetic hustle of high rise Shanghai and is despite its small size a world class building.
In keeping with Kengo Kuma’s architectural philosophy the building is an exercise in subtlety. Adapting the existing building, a 19 Century Watch factory, Kengo Kuma has created a real dialogue between the building and its surroundings. The building will house an exhibition and cultural space on the first floor, with ever changing exhibitions and events. A lighting showroom and offices occupy the second and third floors.
However, it is the top floor that will truly amaze. Amongst a landscape of moving water sit two beautifully appointed rooms by Kengo Kuma. Add to that, a gym, library, wine cellar, a cigar bar and a 24 hour concierge and you have a unique travel experience. These rooms are available to those travellers in search of something truly memorable from November.
