The Palace of Remembrance, as the Boston project is called, was designed by the local firm Moskow Linn Architects.
The memorial sits on a prominent 2.5-acre site that is adjacent to a road leading into the airport.
Upon walking into the memorial, visitors see two winding paths that recall the flights paths of American Airlines Flight 11 and United Airlines Flight 175.

The walkways continue through a grove of Gingko trees, ending at a glass and steel structure that visitors can enter.
